The Reliquary of Courage is one of the first of these ‘riddles’ that you’ll likely come across in Ghost of Yotei. These puzzles essentially require you to read a riddle, extract the key bits of information, and then use them to solve some sort of environmental puzzle. If you solve the riddle, you’re rewarded with some sort of lucrative gear that can help you on your adventure. In this guide, I’ll explain the Ghost of Yotei Reliquary of Courage riddle solution, so you can tick this one off your list.
Where to Find the Reliquary of Courage in Ghost of Yotei
The Reliquary of Courage can be found just west of the Nupur River, and east of Jade Grove in the Yotei Grasslands region of the map. You can see it in the screenshot above to help you pinpoint the exact location. When you’re in the nearby vicinity, a gold bird will appear and will lead you through the tall bamboo to the statue in the center.
You can also get a map that’ll reveal its location from the cartographer, but this will cost you precious coin, which is best spent on armor and weapons instead. This is separate from the traveler’s maps from the Deluxe Edition.
How to Solve Reliquary of Courage Riddle in Ghost of Yotei
Speak to the woman standing in front of the statue, and she’ll explain that the reliquaries in Yotei are ‘riddles that hide gifts from the mountain.’ Once you’ve spoken with her, interact with the statue by standing in front of it, and you’ll be able to read the following riddle:
“A boy was lost and alone,
But wolves came from every corner to guide him
Their eyes gazing at the true Mount Yotei”
The riddle is referring to the four stone statues of wolves, placed north, east, south, and west of the reliquary itself. You can see one of the statues in my screenshot below, but they’re easy to spot thanks to the little fire burning at the foot of them. You now need to interact with each wolf statue to rotate them so that the wolves’ faces are pointing towards the snow-capped mountain. This is the ‘true Mount Yotei’ that the riddle is referring to.
Once you’ve got the wolves facing the right direction, the Reliquary of Courage will open up, and you’ll be rewarded with the Charm of Mount Yotei, which reduces all damage taken by a minor amount.
This is just one of a handful of Reliquary puzzles that can be completed in Ghost of Yotei. If you’re looking for help with more, you can check out our guide for the Reliquary of Strength.
